This compilation highlights a wide range of extraordinary musical talent and styles with most tracks being newly recorded releases. Some of Hawai‘i's top artists participated enthusiastically, recognizing that profits from the sale of the CD will benefit local educational programs in Hawai‘i. The CD features many Na Hoku Hanohano and Grammy Award Winners. Guest artists include: George Kahumoku, Jr; Jake Shimabukuro; Eric Gilliom; Amy Hänaiali’i Gilliom; Vince Esquire; Cyril Pahinui; Henry Kaleialoha Allen; Howard Ahia; Wilmont Kahaiali`i, Jr; Kelly Covington; Alaka`i Paleka; Kathy Collins; Uncle Richard Ho`opi`i; Clifford Naeole; and the Maui Prep Youth Choir. Amy does a fabulous job of interpreting the title cut, "Moonbows for Christmas." Brother Eric's "Dear Santa Claus" is destined to become a Christmas classic. The upbeat "Mele Kalikimaka" will have you snapping your finger and tapping your toes with its gospel flair. Cyril Pahinui's classic "Harvest of Rainbows," was re-recorded especially for this project, and along with George Kahumoku's "More Poi for You", helped to give "Moonbows for Christmas" that special local flavor. Jake Shimabukuro's "Over the Rainbow" is also a very special addition to the CD.
